Question

Adobe InDesign feature functions in a government space

Creating an e-Published Brag Book or portfolio of sorts; contains suggested content outline of highlights, graphics, animation, video, interactions, animated timelines, and an accomplishments summary; the product will be delivered by an internal Microsoft Teams link possibly, document, SharePoint site/and or public website, as well as print as required. I have a question about the functionality of Adobe InDesign features under a government license; also searching the Adobe Support Community to discover current solutions. Right now, certain functions are blocked possibly because of system firewalls, software settings, configuration, or malfunction. I would like to find out if Adobe has offered a work around extension for player automated features to Government customers, or if I can get permission to download and use a third-party extension authored by Ajar Productions, which produces  HTML5 to access the final product. Does Adobe have a workaround or is InDesign compatible with this third-party extension? Do I need to whitelist a location for publishing online in this space? Do you have any other suggestions?

Third party extensions are not controlled by Adobe. There MIGHT be an enterprise setting to disable them, but I have not heard of one. But any third party extension is likely to have its own list of online servers that it MUST access. So contact the maker of the extension.

I was asking if Adobe makes a similar extension to get around the issue of creating an epub or html5 document to run in a government space browser. I get errors and issues when using InDesign to publish online, export html, or epub. Adobe has been servicing government customers for years now.

@LISA30904174xplb, Adobe doesn't make anything special for government versus its reguar commercial customers. And generally, Adobe buys extensions to ship with InDesign and doesn't create them anymore.

The errors you're seeing probably are due to firewalls in your government environment preventing cloud-based services.

However, you should be able to export to PDF, EPUB, HTML and other file formats directly from InDesign's File / Export utility, without any problems or going out to cloud services. These export utilities are built into all versions of InDesign.

Hi

You can check the Event Viewer on a Windows computer (Console on Mac) to locate error and tget some details of exactly the item that blocked your access.

Thank you for your suggestion, but there are no Adobe logs in the event viewer, just Microsoft and system events. Is there away to create the logs through settings of any kind?
