Hi!

I'm William, interior design student and would like to try inDesign, the latest version of CC 2019 on my new laptop. However, whenever i launch the trial version, the splash logo appear until "Starting up panels". Then, it disapear but inDesign never open, not even a crash pop up.

I already try to clean up the preferences files both manualy and with ctrl+alt+shift, but no changes. I'm French, but as i bought my laptop on a chinese website, i have chinese fonts installed (can't delete them), don't know if it has aything to do with it.

Maybe a crash log exist smewhere but i don't know how to find it.

Here is my configuration:

Thanks,

William

The trial version only lasts for 5 or 7 days (I can't remember which), how long ago did you download the trial version?

Hi Derek,

Indeed the trial last for 7 days, I downloaded it 3 days agos, and i still got 4 days to go, but even when i just installed it it didn't open. I tried to troubleshoot on my own but without an error log it's quite complicated.

I tried to reinstalled not only indesign but windows too.

Reinstalling of trial versions tend not to work.

Maybe the way forward is to remove InDesign using the drop-down menu in the Creative Cloud app, then run Adobe cleaner: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Then take out a subscription to InDesign and cancel it within the 30-day period for a refund (assuming you don't want to continue with it).

I did a clean uninstall, subscibe to a monthly subscription; downloaded inDesign again; installed it, and still the same problem. It seem to be coming not from the installation but with a compatibility with my laptop itself, maybe another program. Is there a way to effectively troubleshoot that?

Im having the exact same problem! my trial was downloaded yesterday, it opened fine yesterday and now I am trying to re-open today and the splash logo pops up like its trying to open but then nothing happens! I have closed everything down and even check task manager to see if its running in the background somewhere but it doesn't seem to be. I have a new Lenovo laptop so shouldn't be a problem with that, any suggestions!?

LATEST

We have released InDesign CC2019.0.2 with lot of stability fixes. If you are not on 14.0.2.324 then I would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.

If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

  • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue?
  • Does Trashing preference and cache, please create a backup of Preference and cache before trashing them, help to resolve the issue?
