After droping tiff files only people showing up.:)

Hi there

I got this weird thing goin on with my project.

Im doin small catalog for Mammut Poland and one batch of pictures (tiff, adobe RGB, all flatten) when i drop them to project indesign cutting out only people, no background or anything and there are muntains, buildings etc.

even when i save file to jpg same thing happend. only if i open new file and import tiff and then save to psd etc works fine.

this looks like magic or some voodoo stuff;)

can anybody help ??

    In case you don't speak French, Vinny is showing you the Object > Clipping Path > Options dialog box and he is setting the Type to None. You can do this on import as per Bill, or after the fact, as per Vinny. But I agree with both of them—sure sounds like you are dealing with a clipping path.

    But at least with my way you don't have to look at that horrifying image—over and over again!

    Open the files in Photoshop, click on Paths and see if there are saved paths there (which will  have been defined as clipping paths) and delete them. Then save the documents and they should come into InDesign with all background showing.

    You can also turn the clipping paths off in InDesign by having Import Options enabled when you place the images and having "Apply Photoshop Clipping Path" unchecked in the Import Options dialog window. See screen shot:

    This way you can save the clipping paths in the Photoshop files for future use.
