Short answer, No.

Longer answer: CS6 was the last inDesign that could handle Pagemaker files, and those had to be version 6/6.5/7.0

Also, Markzware long ago did away with PM conversion tools, but even those I'm not sure handled 4.2 files.

That being said, if you'd like, I can convert it for you.

That's what I was afraid of. I have 5 files to be converted. They're needed only for archival purposes.

See attached screenshot for file sizes. If you're still interested we can use Dropbox for the transfer

Sure, send me the link in a private message, and I'll take a boo.

Besides the usual caveats about missing links/font issues, there was a major change in how PM handled type after v4.2, so even me converting them to PM6.5 so I can convert to ID will see major text reflow. If you're fine massaging the file back in line yourself, I can do simple quick and dirty conversions.

I have often found that a PDF of the document, exported to Word, makes a cleaner start than trying to convert from very old app formats. If you have a PDF, you might start with it; if someone still has v4.2 lurking on an old machine, an export to PDF might be the cleanest path.

Nothing's easy when trying to get from <2010 to the present desktop. 😛

That's exactly what I am doing as we speak (i.e. PM4.2 > PDF)
