why when I align my paragraphs to grid does it align to every other line instead of every line?

The leading must be eual or samller than the grid you will align to.

Yes it is!
Why would that make a difference only after aligning to grid?

Community Expert

Alignment to grid will move type down to the next grid line beyond the set leading value, but will not shrink the spacing to less than the leading.
