The bug has been fixed with 14.3 installed. I checked with the ruler on the screen without GPU acceleration or HiDPI resolution.

Today, Monday, January 22  at 10 am Pacific, Apple released the update to macOS Sonoma 14.3.

According to beta testers, this release should solve the display problems in earlier Sonoma versions. The problems did not occur for everyone. I ran Sonoma 14.2 with no problems so I can't verify that this solves the display problems.

If you are running Sonoma, download the update and see whether your problems have been fixed.

The problem should be finally fixed next week with an update to macOS Sonoma 14.3. Apple appears to have finally fixed to bug according to people who are working with the prerelease version.

Can anyone sign up for the betas? Just curious if it's a program similar to the Windows Insider program that Microsoft has.

I believe it's not difficult to get a Developer account for Apple releases. According to the link below "Note that an Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta."

...maybe we should use the Adobe apps on Windows 10 or 11 if this bug keeps troubling our work routine.

Use whatever works for you. I prefer Windows but these things are nothing but tools.

Even after all these years I still miss Quark Express . . . we pay Adobe so much money and they continually let us down . . . KEEP UP! . . . we have too.

Try hiding your rulers and seeing if that helps.

I just tried your recomendation of hiding my rules (I actually turned them off) and I think... I think it worked. What an odd glitch. Thank you for that tip! I hope it fixes it for all my other files.

I also am experiencing this error, super annoying. One workaround I found for scrolling is if you select outside of the InDesign window (click on your desktop for example) then hover your cursor back into the InDesign document, you can scroll without the white screen appearing.

Have you recently updated your system to MacOS 14? If you have, you may want to read the info at this link.

Lots of users are finding rude surprises like yours when running InDesign on Sonoma, which isn't fully supported yet.
