Adobe! Are you having fun? Really? I have been designing for nearly 30 years. For the first time I hate a version of a program. Finding a font has never been a torture. I'm trying to hide from the adobe fonts. Even freehand or quark... You have monopolized everything. At least do your job right. (removed by moderator).

I know what you mean, but sometimes finding meaningful content is even harder...

Do you have a question? Can you detail your font problems?

Are you aware that this is a user to user forum? The people you are addressing your venting to are just other users who donate their services in their spare time. Try going to https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html and let Adobe itself actually know what's on your mind.

As someone who has been around for a very long time,
I want everyone (the designers) to know that I am not happy.
not customer representatives.
I’m talking about expectations, results, present and past...
Do you understand?

Now that I know YOU are not happy, I won't be able to sleep at night... 😋

Does that remove the many base fonts from the system and list, though?
The OP hasn't approached this in the most useful way, but between Adobe and MS Office, I too am a little tired of having dozens and dozens of useless fonts cram my lists. I mean, yay world diversity and inclusion, but I am very unlikely to ever see a document in Uighur, much less work with one. Or forty-'level other Asian font/alphabets. It would be nice if their inclusion was optional, or at least manageable with a font manager, and not embedded/locked in at a system level.

Thanks for clarifying (I think? 😊)
Here's what I do:
It's easy to toggle the filter if you need add another typeface to favorites.
You didn't say your OS, but macOS added a mess of typefaces that I never want to see and Adobe has given me a way to hide them from view.

Favorites is useful, but rather tedious to manage. I do have favorite fonts, my go-to ones for existing and routine new work, but I also use a font manager (with 6-7k faces in the library), and when I have time I like to browse my installed fonts for different ideas.
But running into those long, long blocks of mostly Asian fonts and the like is a real drag. If we can't convince Adobe and MS that these fonts should be either optional-install or allow management by a font manager, I'd like to see an... "Unfavorite" tag or perhaps some configurable tags along with just "Favorite."
To be able to tag all the Asian fonts (if they were not pre-taged) and exclude them, or to be able to create a "Someday" or "Maybe" or "Basement" tag for those and the many I am unlikely to ever choose for anything, along with "Favorites," would allow three-way selection instead of just a clumsy binary option.
But I'm not losing any sleep over it. 🙂
