Auto Styles is annoying. I have created my own style palettes for years and I don't want to use this. Can it be disabled?
Also, I use to be able to copy and paste into my InDesign layout client comments in Acrobat "Comments" that included editorial revisions, and the new content would take on my layout paragraph styles within copy that had been given a paragraph style. All of a sudden, copy pastes in with no style and I have to reapply the paragraph style. This is annoying, especially if I have done kerning on the paragraph previously. Is there a work-around to this? It has really slowed down my production.

Oh man! Thank you! Who would have thought that is where to find it? Seems it should be with type preferences. Gees.

I agree that it's not obvious that it should be controlled from Clipboard Handling preferences. It is applied when copying/pasting from a text file, Word file, copying from browser. It's a very early Technology Preview, and I keep it turned off too!

Next time I do a survey, I will try to remember to include this as a suggestion to change.
Do you have an idea of the reason behind my other issue:

In addition, it was a handy way of not having to rekey things when the client had already done it. As it is, I copy from the Acrobat comment, paste it to my pasteboard, give it the paragraph style, recopy it and then paste it into my layout paragraph. So many steps added when all it took was a copy and paste from Acrobat to InDesign.
I suppose I should also post this under another topic.
Thanks!

I just took another look in Preferences > Clipboard Handling to see what else I missed. For my Adobe to InDesign copy pasting with(out)styles, I have checked:
"When Pasting Text and Tables from Other Applications
Paste:
All information (Index Markers, Swatches, Styles, etc.)" is checked.
"Text Only" not checked
"Show Paste Options" checked (can't recall what this is for)
I use Acrobat for client proofing only and they make their revisions using comment and markup tools. I do not create or edit documents in Acrobat.

THANK YOU!
What an annoying feature for them to add.

Maybe try using the PDF Comments panel to import the PDF which actually brings in and organizes all the comments. Even better, make sure your Acrobat editor people are aware of the 3 Auto-Edit Comment tools from among the 20 available comment tools. If they use the 3 Auto-Edit tools, once you pipe in the PDF Comments in the panel, they can simply update your InDesign layout. Very satisfying!
