Hi,
i’m looking for a way to automate the placement of picto’s and object that are used often in a book.
The picto's/objects are indicated in the manuscript as keywords and should be replaced by the correct picto/object as an anchored object. We dont want to place those items using external links.
The idea is that we put all the different picto’s/objects that are in a book on a certain masterpage or layer and label them.
Would it be possible to create a script that replaces the keywords with the object with the correct label?
Now we do a find&change for each picto/object that is in the book.
I attached a PDF to illustrate what i mean. Hopefully it is clear.
kind regards
Arne

Keywords are part of the meta information.
You can access metainformation, not only keywords in Adobe Bridge. I suppose that Bridge is the place to edit and to work on meta information.
Layers or masters/parents I see not as the place to handle meta information.
Assets should always be linked, not embedded as it enlarges the indd file and it is the main reason for corrupted indd files.

There are various scripts that do just that. Look around, you'll certainly find some.
