Automatic margins around imported images

When i drag&drop import an image into indesign, it automatically adds a margin aroud the image. I then always have to right click "fit frame to content". It didn't use to do that in previous versions, I am using the most up to date version of indesign. thanks for hints

Hi @flo40699462:

Is this in one file or in all files? I can't replicate this, so guessing a default was changed.

  • If one file, choose Edit > Deselect All and then choose Object > Fitting > Clear Frame Fitting Options. In the same file, try the drag and drop again.
  • If in all files, close all documents and then open choose Object > Fitting > Clear Frame Fitting Options. In a new file, try the drag and drop again.

Hi Barb, wow that did it thank you! I thought of myself as a savy InDesign user, yet never stumbled over that option.
