Automatic Stroke Around Text Box

Hello!

Anytime I open a new document in inDesign and proceed to create a text box, the text box automatically has a 1 pt. black stroke around the the text box. I cannot find in the preferences how to turn this off—I also do not know how it was turned on!

Any help in *removing* this automatic text box stroke would be so helpful.

Sounds like it was set with no documents open. This will be the default for all new files.

Close all files and then set the stroke to zero and new files will not have a stroke.

How do you set the default for textbox framing with no documents open?

Edit the Basic Text Frame Object Style or any other object styles you've set to be the defaulrt for new text frames.
