Autosave not working

Question

I worked on two documents for a couple of hours yesterday, and apparanetly forgot to save. Today my InDesign crashed and the last updated version of the documents was from when I opened them at 11:04 yesterday morning. I've lost hours of work. 
 
Is anyone else experiencing issues with Autosave not working?
 
I am on ID 17.0.1 on mac os 10.15.7
