Hi, yesterday opened InDesign, after a long time of not using it. The software is at its last update and so, the app usage was normal as ever, but, however, after quitting the app, it still were showing as using energy from battery, and the computer just speeded up the battery comsumption. It went from 5 hours duration to a deplorable two hours.

I guess something is going wrong with this app, and the proccesses killed when it is quitting.

As I mentioned above, I'm using M1Pro Silicon device.

Sounds like the app didn't quit fully and was running in the background - were you able to Force Quit the application?

If it's not working as intended there's 2 things you can try

---

Try resetting your preferences:
The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

And make sure you're up to date on your OS and Creative Cloud Apps
