Blank Pages in ePub

New Here ,
Dec 05, 2016 Dec 05, 2016

When I convert to ePub, I am getting blank pages between many of my chapters and my prelim pages.

I am new to inDesign, so I may not have done what others may see as obvious.

Any help would be appreciated.

What version of InDesign? Reflowable or fixed layout epub? Version 2 or version 3 epub? What reader are you using to test? Are your styles mapped to tags? Do you have any style set to chapter breaks?

I am using CC, the latest version.

Reflowable.

I don't know what you mean by version 2 or version 3, sorry.

I have opened it in both iBooks and Digital Editions.

Tags are set to automatic as I don't know anything about them.

The only way I know to do chapter breaks is to add a paragraph style, which I have done.

In the export dialog you can choose version 2 or version 3.

You should choose 3.

I would also highly recommend that you spend some time learning about this. There are some terrific courses on lynda.com.

Thank you. I have selected version 3 but I still have the blank pages.

Have you opened the epub and looked at the CSS ?

I simply hadn't deleted all of the page breaks.

That helps!

Have you successfully validated your ePub?

This is a really good validator: FlightDeck

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by validate but I have FlightDeck as part of my package.
