Book cover template with adjustable spine depth?

I have a few projects in which the page count is currently unkown.

I'd like to do a cover layout that allows me to change the spine width quickly, on the fly, without recalculating the entire width of the cover and rebuilding guides, margins, etc.

Is there a way to do this without workarounds?

thanks!

You can set the pages up abutting in the spread, and for output, you can print as spread instead of pages, and output the PDF as a spread as well.

Hi turner111,

the most important thing if you want to move the other pages left or right from spine automatically if you are changing the width of the "spine page": Set up your document with facing pages.

Is the cover a separate docuemnt? if so, you could set it up as a three-page spread, with the spine as its own page. You can adjust its width using the page tool, without affecting the size of the front and back sections of the cover.

Thanks - yes, it's separate.

Are we able to set the pages up (and display/output) so that there's no gap between?

Haven't tried it yet...
