I have figured this out myself. Thanks for trying. Anyone with future problems needs to check their installed firewall programme. Mine was deleting certain files upon launch. Changing permissions for specific adobe programmes solved this.

You should always check for compatibility with all of your business apps. Systems are changing faster and faster, and it's vital to keep the apps up to date as well. You need to budget for this, or freeze your system. That in turn leaves you wide open to viruses etc, so consider the risk vs cost carefully.

You need to upgrade InDesign to CC2015/2017/2018 by taking out a subscription.

As you describe yourself as a professional graphic designer, who needs InDesign to do his work (and who seems to have the money to spend on a new computer), shouldn't this upgrade be seen as a necessity?

Unfortunately you are right. It does indeed seem necessary, in an ideal world I would pay for that today. However, I do not have the money for this subscription.

You just replied to a 15-year old thread.

I've branched your reply to a new discussion but you'll need to give us full details of what your issue it.

Exactly the problem on the branch previously posted. I install indesign, everything is fine. A few hours later and I get the missing fonts and Cmaps error. Or I get the uninstall and reinstall error. It says on the previous post that he needed to change the permissions of a folder. I cannot find this/don’t know how to go about it.

It’s extremely frustrating. It’s a brand new computer, great speed. But doesn’t work with adobe. I’m a graphic designer. So I can’t do my work!

What version of InDesign? What operating system?
