BUG: InDesign cloud document doesn't display Tmeline icon when opened from the Save in Web menu

Community Expert ,
Sep 26, 2025 Sep 26, 2025

[moved from Creative Cloud desktop forum]

I'm filing this bug here as I'm not sure if it's an InDesign bug or a Creative Cloud services bug.

How to reproduce:

-In Creative Cloud desktop app, locate an InDesign cloud document

-Choose the Open in Web menu

In the resulting page of the file, the Timeline icon doesn't appear:

The user will need to go to the file list (by clicking Files, for example), click the file, and then the Timeline icon will appear as expected:

Alas, filing your bug report here won't do much. This is a user-to-user forum, and we have no pull with Adobe software developers.

If you'd like to file a bug report, you can reach Adobe UserVoice through this link. This is a link that will get you to Adobe software developers.

Hope this helps,

Randy

Thanks Randy, I know all that (it's in my posts). I didn't post the original post here.

Mea culpa. It was a reflex response.

I understand. Forums can ninja us all when we least suspect it ...

Hi @leo.r,

Thanks for checking this. I tested this on version 20.5 with Windows 11. I created a new document, added some text boxes and frames, saved it to the cloud, and then checked. The first time I opened it, I could see the timeline option, but from the second time onwards, it did not appear. I am checking this with the product team to confirm what's going on. In the meantime, could you please also share the UserVoice link here in this thread, so we can track it alongside?

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
