Bullet points when switching between Windows and Mac

hello, I'm in the process of putting a brochure together at the moment. I've been working on my Mac desktop, but did a bit of editing on my windows laptop. For some reason, the laptop changed all the bullet points to a super-script letter 'a's. I was hoping that they'd revert back to bullet points when I went back into the document on the Mac, but they didn't. Does anyone know why this is happening? The font I'm using is Neo Sans Pro. I've installed the font on both machines using the same files. Thanks in advance, Nick
