I'm working on a multi page document. If I have an index on page 2, is there any way I can make a picture box on page 2 and then set it to preview whatever is on page 3, 4, 5 etc and then the picture box(s) on page 2 would update the preview as I work on page 3, 4, 5 etc
Any help would be appreciated.

There is Pages Panel in InDesign?
Or you need it to be a permanent part of the Index?

Apologies, maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly... 😞
I have a multi page document, I want a index on page 2 that has pictures of what is on pages 3, 4, 5 etc
If I have picture boxes on page 2 labled as 'Page 3', 'Page 4', 'Page 5' etc - is there anyway to add a live preview of those pages to these picture boxes on page 2.
And then those page 2 preview boxes would update as I work on pages 3, 4, 5 etc
Hope that makes sense.

I understood you - but why do you need this? Just as a preview - when working on the document - or as a permanent part of the index - when published?
I'm on my phone so can't check - InDesign can place a page from INDD document in another document - not sure if it's possible with the same document?

I've been building fan-project Blu Ray covers here:
https://www.deviantart.com/pineapples101/gallery?catpath=/
It's usually a blu ray inlay, booklet and disc art.
I wanted to do an intro page with picture boxes showing what's on each page below the intro page, and include hyperlinks to the picture boxes so that when it's outputted to pdf it would a clickable link for each of the pages.
See the attached jpeg - the top page would have the boxes displaying what's on the other pages, and I was hoping that as I worked on the other pages that the previews on the top page would update.

Unfortunately, it's not possible:
You have Two options:
1) use Book option - Index as 1st document, the rest as 2nd document - then you can place pages from the 2nd document into the 1st document - tested and it works,
2) generate PDF and then place pages from this PDF back to the original INDD file - will always work.

Got it. Thank you. And thank you for testing that as well.
Very much appreciated.
I think I'll ultimatly go with option 2.
Thanks again.

You are welcome.
Unfortunately, option 2 won't be "live".
