Can I Update CS5.0 InDesign Plugins?

Explorer ,
Oct 08, 2012 Oct 08, 2012

Have owned the CS5.0 suite for a long while but never needed to use InDesign.

I've just been given an InDesign document and I cannot open it. Getting an error message saying that I have to update my plugins before I can open document.

Is there an update for the CS5.0 version of this software? If so, where do I find it?

Thanks for any help offered.

That means the file you recieved was saved in CS5.5 or CS6

You'll need to ask the provider to export to .idml for you to open it.

Knowing that there isa format that is importable is useful - thanks!

So do I take it that there ARE no 'updates' for plug-ins?

Correct. The latest update to CS5.5 finally gives the user the proper message that the file was created in a newer version of InDesign.
