Is it correct that by purchasing one copy of Indesign I can use that copy on both Windows and Mac OS?

And, I can use it online and offline as well?

thanks

Yes, you are not purchasing InDesign. You are licensing it. And you can install and use it on two computers. The operating system doesn't matter.

I know you know this, Steve, but for the benefit of the OP and any lurkers, it can be installed on as many machines as needed, but it can only be activated on two at a time.

Yes. Legally only one machine at a time though there is no technical limitation. Your computer will have to connect to the internet on occasion to check your subscription status.

Yes, and yes.

Your Creative Cloud subscription is authorized for two computers (more, if you include mobile devices like iPads and/or smartphones as "computers"). You can use one of those slots for a Mac and one for a PC — I in fact do that myself.

And Yes, you can use it offline. All you need to do is connect every month or so and allow Adobe to grant continued authorization for your two computers.

So All Is Good for you.

Thanks. What do I log into once a month?

Indesign or where I am now? Don't quite follow how it works.

If you have a Creative Cloud account, it has an Adobe ID (your email address) and a password associated with it.

You had to sign in the first time you used any application, so your Creative Cloud apps have that Adobe ID and password saved through the Creative Cloud app. If all that's copacetic, all you need to do is connect to the Internet and open InDesign inside of once a month. Your Creative Cloud app will "call home" to verify your subscription is current and all will be good.

If you go over once a month, your app will nag you to connect to Internet, open InDesign and "call home" to confirm you have a valid subscription. I believe if you go two, InDesign won't open until you connect to the Internet, open InDesign and "call home."

If everything's on the up and up, it's that simple. If things go wrong,  call Adobe (in the US,  1 (800) 833-6687; if you're abroad, you'll have to call the number appropriate for your country) and they'll help you get things straight. But you shouldn't have to do that; I've been helping customers with Adobe software since long before Creative Cloud came into being and I've never had a problem.

Hope this helps,

Randy

Your post gave me a sense of hope Randy, so thank you.
Nice to know a number is available. Face-to-face, or real voice-to-real voice is becoming more

important with each passing day. I will call tomorrow for sure.
