Can't access tools in Tool panel in InDesign CC2020

Can't access tools in Tool panel INDD 2020. Type tool is active and only CTRL key lets me use Selection tool. Cannot click on individual tools in panel... grayed out.

Hi Sheldon,

Thanks for reaching out. Please share the version of InDesign and OS as well.
I'd recommend resetting the InDesign preferences once. Please follow instructions provided on

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/setting-preferences.html

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

I did reset the preferences and no luck yesterday.

Today is a new story, Everything is working fine. It must have been "Blue Monday" for InDesign.

All is well... Maybe it was Murphy's Law... no worries, no problems...

Hi Ashutosh,

I am using the newest version of InDesign on Windows 10 which is updated regularly.

For the past couple of days I am experiencing the same problem. I have deleted the preference file.

Even when I create a new document only the Type tool is Active and I have to use the keyboard shortcut (CTRL) to get the Selection tool. This is definately a persistent problem and I need a fix to prepare for teaching of the Spring quarter.
