@Willi Adelberger It's a line, not a rectangle -- the transform prox shows only three points, center and two ends.

@Bea! You misunderstand what the angle field is showing. It shows the amount of rotation applied when you make a change rather than the angle at which it was drawn relative to the x or y axis. To constrain the line to horizontal, vertical, or a 45 degree slope hold down the shift key as you draw.

Hello @Beatriz26071434v9fc,

I tried to replicate this on my end but could not. Would you mind confirming the version of InDesign installed, if InDesign behaves this way with all files, or when running under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS), so I can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

You showed us a rectangle, not a line. Use straight line tool.

I was able to replicate this using a 10 point stroke. What is happening is that the top endpoint does not match the X coordinate of the bottom endpoint. To fix it select either the top or bottom endpoint using the direct selection tool (white arrow). Copy the X coordinate (Command (Mac)/Control (PC)-C) of that point from the x coordinate value shown in either the Transform or Control Panel. Then select the other endpoint with the direct selection tool and paste the X coordinate which you previously copied into the X coordinate of either the Transform or Control Panel. The line should now look perfectly vertical. To draw a line perfectly vertical in the first place hold the shift key when drawing the line with the pen tool or line tool.
