I am running InDesign CC 14.0.2. on Windows 10. I am unable to open a file I created in InDesign CC. I get the standard 'can't open' error saying plugins may not be installed etc.
I am not sure what version of CC the file was created in, it would have been earlier than 14.0.2 but it was created late last year so it should be a fairly recent one.
I can open other indesign files.
I have tried downloading previous versions of CC. None of these can open it either, which is not too surprising I guess.
The file is about 80mb
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
Jimmy
Thanks Sanyam. I have replied back, appreciate your time. We will just have to recreate the document.
For those interested Sanyam/Adobe have been unable to open the document as it is severely damaged. I'm guessing perhaps a network issue. Weird.

Sounds like a file corruption, sometimes Adobe employees offer (on here) to have a look at the file. Hopefully one willl turn up.

There are multiple factors both internal and external to InDesign application that can lead to document corruption. However, I can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. Please email your InDesign file to corrupt_indesign_docs@adobe.com and I will take a look at the document.
If the file is larger than 10 Mb, you can zip (and password protect) the file and upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send us the document link.

I haven't heard anything back. Wondering if I'll need to mark this as unanswered... not really sure what the protocol is 😕

We here at Markzware can also fix bad InDesign files. Here is a link, as you can see, it is a paid for service. What I can do is waive the in-take or analysis fee of $49 and only ask you to pay if the recovery works. (No cure, no pay!) We have a relatively high success rate of about 70% for fixing bad or corrupt InDesign files. How does that sound?
Just mention this post and send me the file via WeTransfer or such. All I need is the .INDD file itself. Make sure you mention, which version of InDesign you use and any particulars about what you were doing when the problem happened. (Or anything strange that happened during the lifetime of this layout,)

Thanks David, appreciate the offer but it's not something I'm going to be able to take up for this particular job.
Hopefully Adobe gets back to me.
