Question

Can't seem to Place images, only text

All of a sudden, when I opened In-Design this morning, I can't seem to place images. When I create an image frame and use the Place command, when I select a image to place,  the Text Import Options dialog box opens and will only open/place the image as text.

Anyone have any ideas? Could I have accidently switch something on or off somewhere?

Hi @Jef381562793qxd , Are you sure the .jpeg is an image file and not a text file with the wrong extension? What happens if you try to open the JPEG in Photoshop?

Hi Rob - Hmmmm... think you've helped uncover the problem. The image files are hosted on OneDrive... I think that may have fallen over. I can still see all the files, but the same files are not opening in Preview etc either.

Make sure you allowing all files to sync to your local drive—InDesign links have to be available on the local network. Most file syncing services have online only options, which do not work with InDesign.

Forgot to mention: Using OSX 14.5 and latest version of In-Design. I've tried restarting the App and the Mac. Still have the same issue.
