Cannot import eps-file into InDesign

hi,

I am using CS5, Adobe In Design.

I wanna include an eps-file into my In Design document.

So I try to do this via click and drop.

Then I get a message from In Design:

"either the file does not exist or you do not have the permission, or the file may be in use by another application"

Want can I do?

Show us a screen shoot how the file looks in the finder in list view complete.

I found the mistake.

The problem was that I used a German Umlaut: ö

I changed it into oe, and then there was no problem.

Thanks for your support.

  1. Do not use eps in modern times. Use PDF/X-4 or AI instead.
  2. Where is the file? On a dropbox place? Or on another remote place?
  3. Can you click on the file in the finder/explorer with right mouse click and choose “make file offline available”?

hello,

I actually have the file as *ai as well.

The same problem happens.

I do have the *ai file on my hard disk.

Are you stating File > Place doesn't insert the AI file into your InDesign document?
