Change an InDesign document language in order to use spell checking

Hello everyone,

I often work on InDesign documents that are written in English. I translate the content into French on the same document. I can't change the language of the dictionary in order to launch the through spell checker.

I've tried Edition > Prefrences > dictionary but to no avail.

Is it even possible?
