Character Style automatically being applied

New Here ,
Mar 17, 2022 Mar 17, 2022

When I hit CMD-T for the type tool and then begin to type, a character style that I created is being automatically applied. How do I stop this from happening? I'd ideally like it to be Basic Paragraph and No Character style.

Thanks!

Hi @defaultmddqkfraj2cg:

Cmd+t will open the Character Panel. Just tapping the letter "t" will select the Type tool.

Before you try it:

  • Choose Edit > Deselect all.
  • Open the Paragraph Styles panel. Click on Basic Paragraph. If it shows Basic Paragraph+, then right click it > Apply [Basic Paragraph], Clear Overrides.
  • Then open the Character Styles panel. Click on [None].

It sounds like you are dealing with a default override.

"How do I stop this from happening?"

Hi defaultmddqkfraj2cg,

before you begin to type anything:

Make sure that character style [None] is selected in the Character Styles panel.
