Just updated to InDesign 2024 19.2.
I am trying the create a charecter style for hyperlinks but the underline function keeps defaulting to 0 line thickness
I am not sure if this is an Adobe or a Mac Fault.
I am using OS 12.7.3 and unfortunatly for me that’s the newest I can Upgrade on my iMac
If anyone has any suggestions would be appeciated.
Thanks in advance

When you create the style and apply it - can you add the underline manually?
If you can - then try right clicking the style when it's active and use Redefine Style
Might be a hiccup

If a document is not behaving well then try
File>Export
Choose IDML
Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.
====
Try resetting your preferences:
Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Thanks for your reply Eugene, I have tried it on a few new and old documents re-started the computer also but still get the same issue. My previous version of InDesign works as it should.
It turns out that If I choose an Auto underline weight it defaults to zero but if a put a number it accepts it and works ok.

And that's how that dialogue box was designed: it wants a hard numeric value in the weight field, not auto.
Just as an overall suggestion, "auto" anywhere can change throughout a document or within your version of software. It's hard to know when the algorithim behind the scenes has been changed.
In most cases, it's highly recommended to set values like that when you can, rather than use Auto.

Ah - you had Auto selected - that makes sense now.
