Clipping Mask Not Working in InDesign

Community Beginner ,
Oct 09, 2024 Oct 09, 2024

I have 1 RGB JPG then tried TIF (sent to back), I square shape I have Assigned for graphic (on top), in 1 single layer.  It doesn't get ANY simpler.

So why is the Clipping Path function disabled?

It doesn't work that way in InDesign. What you want to do is Paste Inside.

Since you've already placed the image, Cut it to the clipboard, select the shape, then Paste Into.

Alternatively, you can create the shape first, select it, then Place the image.

A clipping path must be saved in Photoshop in the file. Either it is defined as clipping path in Photoshop or any other path can be defined in InDesign as clipping path. Only with such a clipping path this command to convert a clipping path to a frame is available.

LOL I spend the bulk of my time in Illustrator... I forgot it was that simple.  Many thanks!
