Question

cmd-0 not working anymore

Hi,

I'm a big user of the shortcut cmd-0 to fit the page into the window. Nothing fancy, rather a classic Adobe shortcut. I use it also in Illustrator and Photoshop.

But recently, it just stopped working and I can't set the shortcut manually. I can set alt-0, alt-cmd-0, but not cmd-0. It's very strange. It feels like something is overwriting the command, but I don't know which one.

I've recently updated my Macbook Pro to Mojave and CC 2019.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for taking the time.

Hi David,

CMD/CTRL 0 does not work with 0 in the numerical keypad. Make sure you are using the one shown in this screenshot.

If that does not work, try resetting the preferences for InDesign(Set preferences in Adobe InDesign ). Please do take a backup of the same before trashing them.

Regards,

Srishti

Hi Srishti,

Thank you. Yes, this is the key I'm using (no numerical keypad on macbook pros).

Resetting the prefs didn't help.

Still can't figure it out.

Still can't overwrite the shortcut. It'll accept any key, just not cmd-0…

Do you have any utility that might be using that same keyboard shortcut? I have a zoom tool app that was conflicting with one of my InDesign shortcuts. I couldn't see anything happening in InDesign, but a function was being toggled on/off in my zoom app.

And did you say you tried to set the shortcut in InDesign yourself? What happens when you key in Command-0?

In Mojave, the cmd+0 shortcut gets taken over by siri. Go to System Preferences > Siri and turn off the shortcut cmd+0 to activate Siri. I'd also go to System Preferences > Keyboard. Click on shortcuts and disable the cmd+0 shortcut to activate Spotlight.

Unfortunately both suggestions didn't solve the problem: I have different shortcuts for Siri and Spotlight, and Siri is not activated.

I forgot to mention that I'm using the french version of CC.
