I'm trying to print a business card on GotPrint. After uploading to GotPrint, I get a message that says 'we recommend uploading files in CMYK'. I've never gotten this message before and haven't changed any settings in InDesign. The only thing different is the paper stock/finish I chose in GotPrint. I don't see how my file isn't in CMYK. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi @Dana L , The info in your Summary capture doesn’t match what you have set in your Output —the summary is showing you set Color Conversion to Convert to Destination with the Destination set to sRGB. If you want to be assured that the PDF is all CMYK Export to the PDF/X-1a preset.
Right you would normally need a Spot color for foil printing.

Thank you, Rob. I tried exporting to PDF/X-1a and I'm still getting the same error. I eventually got the Summary and Output to match to CMYK, but GotPrint is still giving me the error, so I'll check with them. Thank you for your help.

Can you share the PDF/X-1a? The PDF/X-1a Standard only allows CMYK color, so if it passes PDF/X-1a validation in Acrobat it would be impossible for there to be RGB color in the file.
Also, did you try deleting the embedded the template links that are not part of the card?

I just spoke with GotPrint and they have special instructions for the foil text printing I chose, so I think that must be the actual problem. I'll have to set it up per those instructions and see if that works. Thanks again!
