Collaboration via Dropbox or OneDrive

Hi All,

I have been using InDesign before when there was a phisical server in the office and we could work on the same file. When an image was modified, I would get the update notification.

Now, to collaborate we use Dropbox or OneDrive. Is there a way to make InDesign work the same way without having the whole project folder saved locally in my computer?

I guess it would need to fetch the images directly online and have some kind of access to Dropbox or Onedrive.

I hope I was clear enough.

Thanks Bob.

If I understood correctly, everyone that works on the presentation needs to have the dedicated folder saved remotely and kept synced.

I will do some tests this week.

You need to have all assets in a well-organized Dropbox or OneDrive folder and you should absolutely have any smart sync features DISABLED. Something else to note: InDesign lock files DO NOT SYNC via cloud services so make sure that you're aware of anyone working on the file before you open it or you're going to wind up with conflicted copies.

That is correct. If smart sync is on, there's a good chance InDesign will time out waiting for all of the files to download.
