Colorblindness profile no longer appears in Proof Setup

I am running Adobe InDesign CC 2015.

A few weeks ago, if I wanted to test a file for colorblindness issues, I went to View>Proof Setup and had a variety of different options including Colorblindness. I could view a file for Protanopia or Deuteranopia colorblindness issues.

Now, when I click View>Proof Setup, my only choices are "Custom," "Document CMYK," or "Working CMYK - U.S. Web coated (SWOP v2)."

Because I work for a very large organization, I have no ability to get the 2017 version InDesign CC. Is there any other way to get my Colorblindness proof profile back?

You have never been able to do it in InDesign. It’s in Illustrator.

Thanks for giving me back my 508 mojo !

You're absolutely correct about Proof Setup not being available in InDesign.
It IS, however, available in Photoshop -- even Photoshop CS6 (which is what my organization has issued on this computer).
My workflow is to:

  1. Export a PDF from my InDesign file.
  2. Open it in Photoshop.
  3. Click View>Proof Setup.
  4. Voila! There are the two colorblindness profiles.

  5. Note whatever corrections need to be made, and close the PDF (need to remember NOT to save the PDF in Photoshop.)
  6. Fix my design so that it doesn't create colorblindness or low contrast issues.
  7. Thanks so much for your quick reply!

I was thinking it did but I wasn't positive about Photoshop. And I answered you with my mobile phone without having a chance to check.

Glad you found it there.
