Combine a Stroke and an Image?

I've placed an image in my document and added some strokes (arrows) to point out different features.  I want the strokes to be a part of the image, so that if I move the image the strokes will also move.  What's the best way to accomplish this?

Select the image and the arrows and group them.

Please excuse my ignorance, I've just started with InDesign.  How do you select multiple objects and create a group?

Group them or use a secondary InDesigndocument where you will place picture and strokes and later place the document as link into the main document.
