Is there a way to put consecutive page numbers on every second page in InDesign?

Hi @StefBowker Do you mean facing pages like this?:

If so, you can try this script, which sets section numbering to create the consecutive odd page numbering:

var d = app.activeDocument;
var p = d.pages;
var pn =1;
d.documentPreferences.allowPageShuffle = false;
clearSections();

for (var i = 0; i < p.length; i++){
    if (i % 2 == 0) {
        d.sections.add({continueNumbering:false, pageStart:p[i], pageNumberStart:pn})
        pn += 1
    }
};

/**
* Clears the document’s existing sections
* @return void
*/
function clearSections(){
    var s = app.activeDocument.sections;
    for (var i = 0; i < s.length; i++){
        try {
            s[i].remove()
        }catch(e) {}
    };
};

Hi @StefBowker:

So, for example, you want every right page to have a conseutive number: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? You can do this either with a numbered list that autoflows through the right pages (you need to add a space or other invisible to get the number to appear though), or create a list in Excel (super quick) and then autoflow that list throught the right pages. (See Vinny's detailed explanation near the bottom of this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/alternative-page-numbering/td-p/9933035)
