You can use WORD.

Do you need it for a few equations or do you need script for that?

You can use WORD.

To get to... what format/s? Does MathML in a Word doc import to InDesign?

There are two options:

1) Using MathType addon - Then you can export equations as EPS files - so you can read info about the equation and position it correctly within the text,

2) Without MathType - import equations to WORD and then export as pdf and extract equations as pictures.

EPS is a largely obsolete format. If you must have an EPS file for use in or compatibility with some other application, you will have to find an application or converter that will accept XML and export an EPS image.

If what you want is images of the equations for use in InDesign or a similar tool, I'd recommend looking for ways to save or export to PDF (which is in many ways a modern version of EPS), or, with some reservations, SVG.

I don't know of anything in the Adobe tool set that does XML-to-image, although FrameMaker might have that capability.
