Copy and pasting Glyphs from one Indesign document to another

Question

when copying and pasting a text box containing Glyphs from one Indesign document into a Indesign template the Glyph is turning from black to invisible. We use the Glyph to indicate the end of a story. It appears correct in the original Indesign document but does not view correctly in the Indesign document it is being copied into. This only happens occasionally - but enough to cause issues with production.
Why would the appearance of the Glyph change? Any help is appreciated.
Highlighting the space where the Glyph is does bring up the Glyph information in the control panel.

Peter's completely correct; we don't have much of a chance of figuring out the problem, unless we can see what is going on. We can take some guesses, but it's kind of a shot in the dark, you know? My first blind guess is that your disappearing glyph is marked with a paragraph style or character style in the source document, and the same style name exists in the second document, but with a character color of None or Paper or something along those lines.
