Hope somebody can help me with this.
I am trying to copy a number (in this case, 3) of threaded text boxes from one ID document to another, while maintaining the threads.
Is there a simple way to do this? I cant find a way to do it easily.
Please help before I hit the bottle!!
Cheers.....Scotty
Are the three frames on the same spread or different spreads? If they are on different spreads, you might

Just select all three frames with Selection Tool (black arrow) and copy / paste... They will remain threaded.

Sorry, I should have said that they are on different pages, hence my problem.
The suggestions that you and Jane-e have put forward are both very helpful and have solved my problem.
Thanks so much for taking the time to assist.

That said, if they are on a different spreads, gather them on the same one ![]()
…or, sometimes it may be simpler to use Move Pages command, and then remove everything not needed (if any) from those copies. Especially if exact position is a key. If not, not sure if it worth to bother with all of this at all. Sometimes it's just faster to copy text and recreate the frames from scratch. Hard to tell without knowing actual layout, and how many times you need to repeat this.

It's been about 5 years, please tell me there's an easier way to do this now
I feel like if it's linked, it should copy everything
Do I ask for too much?

Hi @Teryndi:
No, nothing has changed. @jane-e's answer is still correct.
The alternative is to click on the text in one of the frames, Edit > Select All, Edit > Copy to copy the entire story to the clipboard, switch to the other file and paste.
The story will now be in the new file, but likely only partially visible. You can adjust the first frame so that it looks the way you want it to, then reload the cursor (click the red overset icon on the lower right of the first frame) and flow the rest of the text. I tend to take this approach, but either one will get you there, so pick the one that works best for you.

The OP specified "while maintaining the threads". I'm with @Barb Binder — maintaining threads is a non-issue for me and I do it exactly as she does.
