Hi @hahbee,

Thanks for the update and for trying the expert's suggestions! Since you're on a Mac, could you confirm your macOS version? Also, when InDesign crashes, do you see the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog? If so, please submit a report with your email address included and DM me the details, so I can check the logs: Submit Crash Reports.

You may also find these discussions helpful, as other users have reported similar issues:

20.2 Update (March 4, 2025) Causing ID Crash

The product team is aware of this crash issue while closing files and is actively investigating it. You can track updates on UserVoice. If this matches your issue, please upvote and drop a comment there.

From internal confirmations, it looks like the crash is linked to the Typeface app. As a workaround, try disabling Typeface and see if the issue persists. If you need Typeface, you can downgrade to InDesign 20.1 for now. Let me know if that helps or if you need any further assistance!

Looking forward to your update.

hi Abhishek
no, it doesn't show the adobe crash window, just the macos crash window, but i do work with typeface, so that must be it. i'll try the downgrade, many thanks!!

Try resetting your preferences:

Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

The fix doesn't work, prior to resetting the preferences it started doing it more randomly. I mean not every time I closed a doc, but sometimes. I'm attaching the error window.
