Create a paragraph number for many chapters in Book

I need to create a aphorism in the first chapter using the paragraph

Then, in Chapter 2, I want to start automatically in  10

The problem is that I have 35  chapters to include.

I see you are new here—welcome. 

Can you please clarify your workflow?

• Are you working with one InDesign document, or with multiple InDesign .indd files, pulled together into an InDesign book file (.indb)?
• Are you asking to how increment the chapter titles by 9 and then by 10s? i.e., 1, 10, 20., 30, 40... etc.

Details help us help you faster, and eliminate guesswork. And that said, before you provide the clarification, I'm going to guess that your best bet is to number these manually because auto-numbers increment by 1s. As a workaround you might hide the undesirable numbers, but that's likely more work than just typing in the numbers.
