Create alternate text in pdf creating by Indesign software

hello,

please help me to create a pdf through indesign software which can show alternate text in created pdf

please see below example

It should show message in created pdf when I move cursor on any image...

please help...

How to:

In InDesign...

1. Select the photo.
2. Object / Object Export Options
3. Choose the first tab at the top (named Alt-Text)
4. At AltText Source, select Custom from the drop-down menu.
5. Write your Alt-text in the field. In your example, write:
   • Side profile of a woman working on a Surface Book.

When you export the PDF, choose Interactive and check the settings for Create Tagged PDF and Use Structure for Tag Order. This will transfer the Alt-text from InDesign into the PDF.

I have followed the above instructions and some of the images work and some of them don't. Can you please advise why this would be happening and how I can fix it.

Couple of reasons why this might happen:

1. If the graphic with the Alt-text is part of an InDesign "group" (ctrl/cmd + g), the Alt-text is often mis-coded in the PDF during the conversion. Solution: Ungroup the group, then select just one of the individual items and add the Alt-text to it. You can then re-group the group. If this still doesn't work, then don't group the items at all before exporting to PDF.
   Note: InDesign doesn't yet handle group items correctly.
2. If you're working on a pre-2019 version of InDesign, it might have a bug that didn't export all of the alt-text correctly. Some pix had it, others would have it mis-tagged. Solution: upgrade to CC2019.
   Note: we do not yet recommend upgrading to 2020 because of serious flaws in how it tags hyperlinks, TOCs, etc. (July 2020) Stay with InDesign 2019 (version 14.0.3).
