Crop to Guidelines Adobe Indesign

I am creating a large wall graphic in Indesign and need to crop it into smaller sections. I am not sure on the best way to do this. I tried exporting it into Photoshop but my file exceeds the document size. Any advice?

In InDesign you could make the page in the size of a single section, make a non-facing document, select the page tool and move the pages together. You can also overlap pages.

In Photoshop save as TIFF or PSB (Photoshop Big File) instead of PSD.

Possible, that in your case PDF or PDP (Photoshop PDF on Windows) would work.

Do you need to “tile” it, that is, create sections small enough to fit on the largest paper size you can print on? If so, try the Tiling option in the Print dialog box in InDesign. You can specify an Overlap value to cover any gaps along adjacent tile edges.

In the example shown above, InDesign figured out that after accounting for an minimum 0.5 inch Overlap, it could print the large graphic on nine sheets of the A4 paper size that was selected.

I usually just do it about 1/10th the size required - and draw guides on a single page where the splits are. 

Output to PDF and then the printer can scale it to full size on output.
