Hey all. I am working on a number of warrantees and there are sections that have a shaded background with a border around it. As it is now, they are just objects behind the text that get moved around as it reflows. Pain in the butt when you have dozens of these in 26 languages.
I'm hoping there is a way that I am not seeing to get the paragraph border to go around multiple styles, for example, the heading and also the body copy. I can easily get the paragraph shading to work since you can't tell when it overlaps, but the border is stumping me.
The bottom is what I need. The top is what I can figure out. Note the offending border between the header and the body copy.
This will also hopefully be smart enough to break over columns and pages with the border closing itself where it makes sense to...
I think I could come close by replacing my paragraph styles with character styles, and then have the paragraph style just for the shading/border, but there are things like offset and paragraph spacing that I don't think I want to give up.
I'm working in ID13.1 as well, if that's a factor. We're not able to update to 14 just yet.
Thanks!

Hi Jesse:
What about setting up your paragraph style for the entire thing, and then nesting a character style just for the first line, up to a line break (Shift + Enter)?

That's definitely helpful, but there are more than just the heading and body styles to deal with. I think my real problem is that it's all set up already and to replace all the styles in all these documents would end up costing more time than just moving the stupid grey boxes. I think it only makes sense from a time standpoint if I can just modify the existing styles, and even then only just.
Thanks for the input.
