Cross references break when layer is duplicated

Hi,

I have the problem that in a document I'm working on, there are some page number cross references linking to a text anchor on a different document (both docs are used in the same book file).

I need to duplicate the layer that the cross references are on, but they break every time when the layer is duplicated.

Is this normal, or how can I avoid this? I'll need to repeat this process on all 110 documents in the book!

Thanks in advance,

Klaas

I guess noone else does this!

But here's the answer in case anyone else finds this:

When you duplicate a layer and you want any cross references that reference another document not to break, first open the other docs by clicking on the green circle in the cross reference panel. When all the referenced documents are open, you can duplicate the layer and the cross refs will be preserved on the new layer!

This is an indesign bug!
