CS4: XMP info missing for placed images

Hi all,

in Documents produced on our InDesign Servers, the XMP information is missing from placed images, and also not available to later PDF export.

If we re-link the same images via InDesign Desktop, the XMP information is loaded.

Does anybody know the problem, is there even any matching InDesign Server configuration flag or alike?

Thanks,

Dirk

Interesting.

Does setting app.serverSettings.imagePreview to true help?

I tried app.imagePreview because in CS4 Server that variable is bound straight to the app rather than to serverSettings, as verified in data browser and OMV.

Anyway, the XMP is still missing.

Oh well. It was a bit of a long-shot...

Other than parsing the linked file directly I don't have and other ideas.

Good luck!

The problem turned out to be independent from InDesign Server - it is just another of those failures of the Snippet mechanism.

We solved it by relinking to the same image.

Hi Dirk, I know this is a long-shot, but I think I'm having a similar issue. I don't understand your solution "relinking to the same image" however. Can you elaborate?

I have a script that works well on ID Client, but doesn't ".Place" images while running on ID Server. Yet, I get no errors. I've tried everything I can think of.

Any help appreciated.
