I’m currently working on a project in Adobe InDesign and I have a question about the “Wrap around object shape” feature. I would like to define the path for the text wrap myself within InDesign, without having to import a path from another program. Is this possible?
So far, I haven’t found a way to do this directly in InDesign.
1 Correct answer
Add "standard" path - then use Direct Selection Tool to move points.
You can also add new points.

There is also a way to add path(s) from other objects - use one object's path(s) as a TextWrap for another object...

Is it something that is only possible thanks to the plugin or can you show how it works in basic Indesign?

Unfortunately, it can only be done through scripting.

Not sure how hard it would be to have multiple Text Wrap Paths for a single object - probably with a lot of manual editing through adding and removing points - but using my tool - it's piece of cake:
The blue Rectangle - is a single object - with TWO different Text Wrap Paths...
Then, there will be a way to manipulate whole paths - but not only Text Wrap Paths but all paths in general - move / rotate / scale / etc. - or just specific points...
... PLUS on multiple objects on DIFFERENT Spreads in MULTIPLE documents at once...
