Delete default text variables

I am wondering if there is anyway of removing the deafault list that inDesign uses. e.g TV XRef Chapter Number, File Name, Image Name, Creation Date etc

I am inserting many variables in my documents and would rather the drop down list i see not have them avaialble.

Hi Rob,

Type > Text Variables > Define...

Have you tried clicking on the text variable and clicking Delete?

They seem to be all deletable.
