Different footnotes whit different bodytext color

Hi all.

I have a bilingual text with footnotes. Each language has its own color. How can I assign different colors to the footnotes of each text?

Hi @jmendesign ,

well, if the footnote's text hints to the language, a GREP Style could assign a character style with a specific color.

For this hint you'd need the hint to be added to the text as text E.g. §DE§ for German or §IT§ for Italian. Another GREP Style could hide the indicator ( no character fill color, 0.1 point size, 1% character width), but not remove it.

Just an idea. From my German InDesign where the Story Editor is showing the text without the formatting of hiding the indicator:

Are they mixed or in a separate threads / Stories?

Can you post a screenshot?

Paragrpah Style that you can apply to Footnotes - is a "global" Document preference - for all texts  / Stories - so you would need to apply "manually" different ParaStyles.

On a PC - with the right tool - it would be piece of cake.

Looks like you've replied in the middle of me editing my post:
