Doesn't function after creating document, and program won't close.

I can open InDesign and create a new document, adjusting the settings sush as turning of facing pages.

After the document is created, I can no longer use the file or other drop-down menus, I cannot use the tools. I cannot use any other menu options like CC libraries or pages, but I can toggle between then and see them. I can see all the tools and the dropdowns and nothing is greyed out, but if I click on it nothing happens.

I also cannot close the program. I can close the document, but then clicking on the X doesn't do anything.
If I right click on the InDesign logo in the taskbar and choose, "close window", nothing happens. I have to restart the PC in order to leave InDesign. This does not occur until after I create a document.

The computer is not currently connected to the internet. Phototshop and Illustrator still work for anything that does not require downloading anything or accessing anything online. So, I don't know why InDesign is doing this.
I'm running Windows 10, and InDesign 2023.

@Esther32939330bo6v A beta version of the impending "save to cloud" functionality was introduced to version 18.5 of InDesign 2023, causing problems for many users and causing then to revert back to version 18.4. Not being connected to the internet was one of the major causes for the problems with version 18.5.

Assuming you have sufficient RAM and spare hard disk capacity, have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences back to the factory defaults?

Thanks

Hopefully, they fixed it in 2024. I'll try that one and see.

If not, I'll have to find a way to get my Ethernet cable to the PC or vice versa.

I changed Internet providers, and the cable come out in the same room anymore.
